Leading them were two ordinary demon soldiers and a high-ranking succubus, while behind them came a group of hideous, undersized chaos demons resembling mutated goblins, herding several humans along. Anyone looking on could tell what was happening: the demons had captured a group of human prisoners.
At least, that was how it appeared on the surface.
Lanina and the two demon soldiers walked at the front, probing them for information as they went, while Hao Ren kept looking around from the rear. Sneaking into an enemy group was a novel and interesting experience for him. As long as everything went smoothly, they could use this group of low-level demons as cover and make their way all the way to the Obsidian Plain.
Beside Hao Ren were several unfamiliar people with gloomy expressions. They were the "spies" from the Holy See Allied Forces whom the demons had captured, though they probably were not high-ranking personnel. They were likely ordinary scouts; otherwise, they would not have been caught by a group of low-level demons.
The one closest to Hao Ren was a middle-aged man with a full beard. He wore a light brown leather cuirass and looked like a vanguard soldier judging by his identity—his military ID tag said so right on his chest.
