The Obsidian Plain was vast, and the Holy See Allied Forces had never been merely "an army" from the very beginning. With such a huge force stationed across the great plains, the various supplies, service units, and auxiliary troops accompanying them had practically turned the place into a hastily built city-state. Across nearly a million square kilometers of land stood countless military camps and settlements, connected by roads and traffic routes. If they had not seen it with their own eyes, nobody would have imagined that the Obsidian Plain battlefield could have developed into this state within a year of the war's end. The massive military presence and complicated distribution of camps also made things convenient for Hao Ren and the others: moving around was exceptionally easy.
The commanders of the Holy See Allied Forces were not gods, either. Even if they had transferred a large number of professional administrators from their homeland, they could never manage such a vast territory as tightly as a military camp. Within the Obsidian Plain defense line were countless blind spots in supervision. Identification, communication, and restrictions between the armies were all functioning, but there was obvious delay and perfunctory enforcement. Hao Ren and the others took a walk around the camp and discovered that although many places had soldiers standing guard, getting through them was surprisingly easy.
