Lily and Vivian glared at the Data Terminal, but the latter remained completely unmoved, looking as if to say, "My shell's tough. If you've got what it takes, bite me." Hao Ren, meanwhile, had never truly believed from the start that a husky and a Bat Spirit teaming up could accomplish any scientific research. He tapped the table and told Lily to stop grinding her teeth, then casually picked up the pentagonal crystal panel. "Find any clues?"
The Data Terminal activated its holographic projection. "It's similar to a diary. It was left behind by someone working at the observatory. I've already translated it. Read it yourself."
Hao Ren stared at the log records in the holographic projection and discovered that they were diary-like entries devoted entirely to recording work. The opening sections were mostly mundane notes on equipment maintenance, weather, and constellations, but then they suddenly mentioned an event that caught one's attention:
"...Night of the ninth day, clear and cloudless, with exceptionally stable atmospheric conditions. An inconceivable phenomenon was observed in the night sky. Arcana First Star emitted a burst of light, and the star's outline briefly expanded until it was comparable in size to the sun. Red light illuminated a quarter of the sky. The equipment recorded this miraculous phenomenon. The mentor speculated that it was a supernova, and believed this proved that Arcana First Star was indeed an ancient star, despite all its various parameters being vastly different from those of ordinary stars... Everyone regretted that they had been unable to determine the data of this ancient star before the Arcana explosion, but they should also be grateful for the explosion. Perhaps the star's composition could be analyzed from its spectrum..."
The Data Terminal highlighted this section of the log in a special color. Hao Ren asked,
