As the enormous drone legion entered the Hub Battlefield and unleashed a storm of firepower upon the Holy Land, another battle was just reaching its conclusion.
At the original site of the Nakdal base, the invasion force formed by Corruptors finally tore through the defensive line after a Great War. These mutated, maddened creatures gnawed at everything along their path like a wolf pack, including powerless armed drones and extinguished sentry turrets. Everywhere they advanced, the aftermath of the battle littered space with wreckage: glowing-hot Alloy Fragments, fortress debris jumping with sparks, Flesh and Blood Tissue drifting everywhere, and black warships torn apart by explosions. With their still-warm "bones," these wrecks displayed the brutality of the battle that had taken place here—and completely paralyzed the judgment of the commander behind the Corruptors.
With resistance this fierce and the defenses this tight, how could this possibly be a trap? This must be the drones' main base. A professional commander's judgment couldn't be wrong—that was undoubtedly what the commander behind the Corruptor army thought.
Buoyed by both this confidence and the satisfaction of finally pushing the front line forward after a Great War, the Corruptor army increased its speed and pounced toward the Energy Reaction Area detected by its probes.
There was still scattered resistance along the way. It came from the armed drone units that had been broken apart earlier and the defensive floating gun groups stationed in space. There were also sparse shield generators barely functioning, weaving together a blockade that was no longer tight. But the Corruptor army was now under direct command, so it restrained its urge to keep entangling itself with these scattered defenders. After clearing away the most threatening turrets, the monsters simply crossed the blockade and continued deeper into the base cluster.
