Duan Wenyuan pointed at Jiang Fan, shaking all over with anger.
"You unfilial son! You unfilial son!"
Jiang Fan stopped looking at him, turned, and walked away.
He had his own deeper reasons for doing this.
On one hand, it was exactly as he had said—he and Duan Wenyuan simply could not see eye to eye.
On the other hand, he was not Duan Gang, after all. He had only borrowed the other man's identity for the time being, so it was not very convenient for him to have too much involvement with him.
Now that he had resolved the greatest trouble for the other man, it counted as compensation to him. He had already done all he reasonably could.
"Big Brother, wait for me!"
Just then, Duan Yuqing's sobbing voice came from behind Jiang Fan.
Jiang Fan's steps paused, but he did not look back.
A moment later, however, he felt his sleeve being grabbed.
"Big Brother!"
"Can you not leave us?"
Jiang Fan turned back to look at her. Seeing the little girl's dependence and reluctance in her eyes so genuine, his brows immediately furrowed slightly.
Seeing this, Duan Yunxiu hurried forward and grabbed her younger sister.
"Yuqing!"
"Let go!"
Duan Yuqing stubbornly kept crying.
"I won't!"
"Big Sister, don't pull me!"
"Big Brother is about to leave. Aren't you worried?"
Duan Yunxiu pulled her away.
"Be good!"
Duan Yuqing had no choice but to let go through her tears.
Duan Yunxiu wiped the tear streaks from her face, then looked at Jiang Fan. After hesitating for a while, she said, "You... take care!"
Her gaze was complicated and hard to read, filled with confusion and sorrow.
"I hope that, in the future, you can... stay safe and sound!"
Jiang Fan looked at her and fell silent
