Monkey Wine

"Awoo..."

It was still that vast orchard, where the monkey troop played and frolicked freely, as though they would never know a care in the world. The Monkey King and several Monkey Generals were still basking in the sun atop a giant stone.

Lin Feng hid in a thicket, holding a huge jade bottle in his hand. He stared intently at the multicolored medicinal liquid slowly flowing within. "Success or failure depends on this one move. Don't let me down!"

After observing the wind direction once more, Lin Feng slowly removed the transparent seal from the jade bottle. A gentle breeze then drifted by, gradually spreading the dissolved Drunken Dragon Saliva throughout the entire orchard.

"Thud, thud, thud..."

As time passed, monkeys continuously fell to the ground. Fortunately, these monkey heads had sturdy bodies. Otherwise, a few of them would inevitably have suffered this undeserved calamity.

As the little monkeys around them kept fainting, the old Monkey King finally sensed that something was wrong.

"Three, two, one... fall." As Lin Feng's words fell, the Monkey Generals indeed collapsed in response.

Seeing the Monkey Generals fall, their fate unknown, the Monkey King could no longer restrain the savagery in its heart. Its eyes turned crimson as it violently beat its chest, sending wave after enormous wave surging outward.

Then it leaped into the air and charged fiercely at Lin Feng.

Dou Qi circulated through the meridians in Lin Feng's back. With a series of soft tearing sounds, a pair of enormous black wings rose from behind him. He pushed off with his feet and shot into the sky in an instant.

Looking at Lin Feng in the air, the Monkey King was enraged beyond measure, constantly hurling giant stones at him.

However, the careful Lin Feng noticed that as time passed, the Monkey King's strength visibly weakened. Sure enough, after throwing another giant stone into the sky, the Monkey King let out an angry roar and crashed heavily to the ground.

After circling around for a while, Lin Feng suddenly stopped as he passed a peach tree. His gaze fixed upon the seemingly ordinary tree, and his brows rose. "I finally found you!"

He gently placed his palm against it, releasing his Soul Force and letting it seep inside. Immediately afterward, a vast surge of energy appeared within Lin Feng's sensing. "So it was brewed inside the tree, naturally concealing its energy fluctuations. No wonder even my powerful Soul Force couldn't find it."

Lin Feng brushed his hand over his Storage Ring, and a Second-order Demonic Core sword appeared in his palm. He lightly slashed at the peach tree, and a rich, refreshing fragrance rushed toward him, making one feel as though they might become drunk without realizing it.

Seeing this, Lin Feng quickened his pace and continued cutting open the peach tree. Once he had opened a hole the size of a millstone, a hazy, radiant glow surged forth. Lin Feng immediately took out a jade bottle as large as a wooden barrel from his Storage Ring. With a beckoning gesture, he used his powerful Soul Force to draw the liquid in and collect it within the jade bottle.

After drawing out the Monkey Wine from the peach tree, leaving only one-tenth behind as the base wine, Lin Feng rose and continued searching. With such a huge troop, this little Monkey Wine would not be nearly enough to distribute, though most of it would surely go first to the Monkey King and the Monkey Generals.

Now that he knew where the Monkey Wine was hidden, Lin Feng found another eight peach trees containing Monkey Wine in less than a quarter of an hour.

He extracted the wine from each one, leaving behind a portion at every location as base wine to prevent future brewing from becoming difficult.

As an alchemist of great virtue, Lin Feng was not some unscrupulous Taoist priest who spent all year robbing ancestral graves.

He knew full well how difficult it was for Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures to come into being. Even though Monkey Wine was brewed by beasts, he could not take every last drop.

After taking most of the Monkey Wine, Lin Feng left the area. As he passed the monkey troop, hesitation flashed across his face. "Forget it. I do owe you all, after all."

Then, on a sudden whim, Lin Feng took out the Beast Tongue Pill he had refined as a backup and placed it in a conspicuous spot as well.

Rubbing his chin, Lin Feng's eyes brimmed with curiosity. "Beast Tongue Pills are usually taken by humans to communicate with magical beasts. But what would happen if magical beasts took one—especially a troop of humanoid magical beasts like these monkeys!?"

After placing down the pills, Lin Feng slipped back into the thicket he had come from and closed his eyes to rest.

When the warm sunlight turned scorching, then gradually drifted westward, the unconscious Monkey King finally seemed to stir slightly.

Lin Feng, whose Soul Force had been monitoring the surroundings all along, sensed the movement immediately and stored the alchemy notes in his hand back into his Storage Ring.

Then Dou Qi flowed from his Dantian to his feet. The moment the Monkey King fully awakened, Lin Feng's figure flashed and vanished from the orchard in an instant.

"Roar..."

Who knew how long later, a heaven-shaking beast roar suddenly came from the direction of the orchard. The sound was filled with shock and fury, as though it had suffered some devastating blow.

The magical beasts around the orchard quickly fled farther away. No one knew what madness had seized the old Monkey King, but that did not stop them from keeping their distance. No one wanted to provoke a Tier 4 Top-grade Magical Beast, much less a Tier 4 Magical Beast with such a powerful troop.

Within the gradually darkening Magical Beast Mountain Range, Lin Feng continuously darted through the forest. Although his figure was swift, no magical beast sensed his movements under the concealment of his Soul Force.
