Beside the Kazekage Building in Sunagakure, Sasori, standing at a high vantage point, suddenly turned to look toward the area where explosions had just erupted in succession. His emotionless eyes shifted, and countless puppets instantly launched an even fiercer assault, while he himself silently slipped away through a gap in Sunagakure's defenses.
"Is this... over?"
Inside the Kazekage Building, Pakura, Chiyo, Ebizo, and the others had completely wiped out the final wave of puppets. After waiting for quite some time without seeing any more puppets attack, they were beginning to find it strange when hurried footsteps suddenly approached from the distance.
"Kazekage-sama!"
Temari and a squad of elite Sunagakure shinobi quickly arrived at the scene. Upon seeing Pakura, Temari anxiously said, "Gaara was attacked. He was taken away by a man wearing a black cloak with red clouds."
"Their target is the Tailed Beast! Sasori was only keeping us occupied!"
No one present was a fool. They soon understood the purpose of the earlier surprise attack. Sasori's assault had merely been a diversion and a feint. Their true target had never been the Kazekage Building, but Gaara himself—the Jinchuriki.

At that moment, another squad hurried over and handed a report to Pakura.
Pakura took it and read it before passing it to Chiyo and the others. "Konoha has already received the news and sent Kakashi here. Sasori is a member of Akatsuki, and their suspected target is a Tailed Beast. Now we can be certain. It is the Tailed Beast.
"Organize people to deal with the aftermath immediately, and send someone to track Sasori and Deidara. We must bring Gaara back.
"Consultant Chiyo, as the Kazekage, I still have some matters to handle. I'll leave this operation in your hands!"
