Just as the standoff was growing tense, someone on the Marine side suddenly noticed something was wrong.

The rippling sea level was rising. Under the influence of the tremor, the seawater across hundreds of nautical miles seemed to be sucked in by a massive whirlpool, continuously converging around Marineford.

On a ship in the distance, Luffy, Buggy, and the others who had escaped Impel Down suddenly discovered that the vessel was rapidly moving uncontrollably in one direction. The seawater was carrying them along.

"Those guys suddenly quieted down."

"Are they waiting for Whitebeard's orders?"

The Marines found it strange. Whitebeard had gathered such an enormous force, yet now everything had fallen silent. Was this merely thunder with little rain?

"The water level has been rising nonstop since just now."

"Over there... What is that...?"

"What's going on with this rumbling?"

The Marines who noticed the change in the water level were inexplicably terrified, yet they had no idea what was happening. The ground of Marineford suddenly began to tremble, and even the buildings visibly shook.

Within the Marine ranks, Garp wore a knowing expression, as if he had anticipated this situation long ago.

A line of waves suddenly appeared on the distant sea. As it drew closer, violent waves repeatedly crashed into Marineford from every direction. The spray struck the bayhead, splashing seawater across the Marines' faces.

"The quake man, Whitebeard, Edward Newgate—the user of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit."

"What is that~~~~?"

"It's a tsunami! It's so huge..."

Terrifying tsunamis rolled in from two directions, crashing toward Marineford in the middle. Once struck head-on, the entire Marineford would be washed away by the seawater.
