When news broke that the Chiyo clan had withdrawn from the race for Kazekage, it truly shocked many people. Naturally, it also sent the other promising candidates into a frenzy of delight. The Chiyo clan's withdrawal gave them hope, and three of them soon each gained a group of supporters.

They were Rasa, the Third Kazekage's Direct Disciple who possessed a mutated Magnet Release and could control gold dust; Erik, the Third Kazekage's Direct Disciple who could control magnetism but struggled with fine manipulation; and Pakura of the Scorch Style, a genius of the Hidden Sand Village who had created the Scorch Release Kekkei Genkai and seemed destined to become the founder of one of the Hidden Sand Village's great clans.

Among the three, Pakura of the Scorch Style was the youngest, not yet twenty. However, she had created the Scorch Release Kekkei Genkai and developed both Wind and Fire Release to an extremely high level. She had completed the nature transformations of two types of Chakra, allowing those two powers to awaken and give birth to a third Chakra attribute within her body—the Scorch Release Kekkei Genkai, which could be inherited by her descendants.

As everyone knew, Chakra became tremendously powerful after being developed and undergoing nature transformation. High-level ninjas, essentially those at the Jonin level, generally mastered the nature transformation of at least one attribute. Ninjutsu became vastly more powerful after nature transformation, and the variety of techniques that could be developed was far greater.
