The circus performers slowly moved away, some pushing carts, others riding on elephants.
Lu Xin quietly stood behind them and watched. On the elephant's back and the flatbed cart pulled by the strongman were the magician and his assistant, the beautiful conjoined dancer, the dwarf collecting money, the graceful woman dancing with snakes, and even a snake-necked beauty who gently poked her head out from the black-draped cage on the cart. They all smiled at him.
They slowly waved their hands and disappeared from view.
For a moment, a strange feeling filled Lu Xin's chest, and he remained unable to look away for a long time.
Only after a long while did Lu Xin open the ticket envelope, discovering that the ticket indeed had no time written on it.
But it did have the name of the performance: "The Last Performance."
It was a performance that left the audience unaware of when, or at what time, they should go watch it.
Yet when he thought of the way those people had left, Lu Xin suddenly felt a powerful sense of anticipation.
It was as if something on a spiritual level had been touched, and he faintly sensed that this might be a truly spectacular performance.
"From a safety perspective, you should throw this ticket away."
Dr. An's voice reminded Lu Xin. She gazed calmly at the circus as it departed and said softly to him, "Because no one knows what this ticket might bring. Things handed over by ability users often have strange effects."
"Still, keeping it is fine too."
"After all, they gave it to you out of gratitude. Throwing it away would be somewhat ungrateful."
"Besides, although these people are strange, I didn't sense any hostility from them."
"..."
"..."
Lu Xin nodded and smiled. "Yes."
