Training Ground 7.
All of Team 3 had arrived.
Jonin instructor Might Guy, along with genin Neji Hyuga, Rock Lee, and Tenten, had gathered here.
Might Guy looked at the three youthful children, and a surge of hot-blooded passion rose within him.
"Ah~ this is youth!"
Rock Lee was thrilled, Tenten was covered in black lines, and Neji remained expressionless. It had that familiar feel.
Having finished his burst of passion, Might Guy had not forgotten the real matter. He looked at the three and said,
"Earning my approval is simple. Use your burning youth to prove yourselves. Come!"
"I am ready for your passionate youth!"
"Oh!!!"
Rock Lee was fired up beyond belief, while Tenten beside him stared at the two with black lines all over her face.
Neji indicated that he had no eyes and did not even look at them. He merely said calmly,
"Teacher Might Guy, speak plainly!"
Cough, cough!
Guy reined in his passionate expression and addressed the three in words they could understand.
"Very simple. Fight me. If you satisfy me, you pass. If I think you are not good enough, you will be sent back to the Ninja Academy."
He did not have Kakashi's fancy tricks. The test was simple: let strength do the talking.
"There is no such word as safety in the ninja world. If you are not strong enough, you could die on a mission at any time. This is for your own good!"
"Show me everything you have. Do not hold back. I will judge it."
Guy, who was usually hot-blooded and somewhat goofy, revealed a serious expression at this moment.
If they failed to meet his standards, he truly would send all three back to the Ninja Academy.
This was no joke!
Sensing the shift in Guy's bearing, Rock Lee turned serious as well, while Tenten drew ninja tools from her waist.
Neji only appeared even calmer. The instant his foot stepped forward, the three began to move.
The long-standing plan to harvest experience packs had greatly increased Rock Lee and Tenten's strength.
At the same time, as the saying went, the person who understood you best was often your opponent. Not even your wife would study you so seriously.
The three worked together with exceptional coordination. Neji flashed directly in front of Guy, taking up the Gentle Fist stance.
Rock Lee shifted his body and moved to Guy's side. With his body blocking the view, Guy temporarily lost track of Tenten.
That positioning alone made Guy nod inwardly. The three were clearly extremely familiar with working together.
That was rather unexpected!
The thought vanished in an instant as a gust of fist wind struck straight at him, showing absolutely no martial virtue.
The powerful Gentle Fist could not be underestimated. It did not target the body itself, but the Chakra pathways and the body's interior.
It could be considered turning Chakra into soft force and hammering it into the enemy's body. A graze would injure, while a direct hit would cause internal damage.
It sounded powerful enough, but under Guy's Chakra protection, the two pairs of hands turned into afterimages, constantly colliding.
Not being able to break through was nonsense!
Rock Lee at the side did not miss this opportunity. His gaze dropped low as he unleashed a Konoha Gale.
Spinning his body, he sent a powerful Low Kick at Guy in the midst of the exchange.
Guy's eyes narrowed, and the force in his hands increased as he tried to shake off Neji's entanglement.
But Neji's difficulty surprised him. His fists and palms, which had been clashing head-on all along, suddenly transformed into a vortex.
Caught off guard, Guy was nearly pulled in, startling him.
His years of combat experience outpaced his thoughts. By reflex, the Chakra within his body burst with force.
Only then did he shake Neji away, but Rock Lee's whistling Konoha Gale had already arrived.
Might Guy shifted his stance and met it directly with a kick, Low Kick against Low Kick.
Might Guy had struck in haste and was evenly matched with Rock Lee, but the corners of Neji's lips curled up slightly.
"Projectile Barrage!"
Tenten leaped from behind Neji, a huge scroll circling around her.
Countless concealed weapons instantly flew out, hurtling toward Guy, whose old force had not yet faded and whose new force had yet to arise.
Already prepared, Rock Lee leaped back in a series of backflips and withdrew at once.
This left Guy completely exposed beneath the countless concealed weapons, instantly trapping him in a deadly situation.
A faint, approving smile appeared on Guy's face.
"This is your youth! How truly stirring—I can feel it."
His body bent slightly, his breath sank into his abdomen, and Guy's expression changed as his eyes sharpened.
There was less than half a second to react. As a jonin, he would not be defeated by something like this.
It was not even enough to make Guy open the Space Gate!
Every part of his body became a powerful weapon, and Neji's Observation Haki could see through it all.
But the speed was too fast for him to react to, making Neji's expression turn slightly grave.
As expected of the man who had nearly kicked out the ending with one blow. Even with Taijutsu alone, he could be this powerful.
As Tenten's concealed weapons were about to run out, Neji and Rock Lee exchanged nods and attacked again.
They gave him no chance to catch his breath.
The three became entangled in battle. Even Tenten, with her sharp eyes and quick hands, could not find an opening to slip her concealed weapons into for a moment.
But being unable to interfere did not mean doing nothing. Watching the three fight,
Tenten ran toward the forest on one side without looking back. She opened her scroll, and countless concealed weapons appeared. Recalling Neji's instructions on setting up formations,
her gaze swept over the area as she calculated the basic placement points in her mind and began to work.
At the center of the battlefield, Guy keenly noticed that Tenten had disappeared. He drove a fist into Rock Lee's abdomen and sent him flying.
His gaze turned to the incredibly slippery Neji. Was this the Gentle Fist he had developed himself?
It was indeed vastly different from the Gentle Fist used by ordinary members of the Hyuga Clan. It was truly rather troublesome.
"Not bad. I should use a bit of my real strength too, or I will lose face!"
Glancing at Rock Lee as he got back up, Guy felt that it was time to put in some force, though they Had Already Reached his standards.
"Space Gate, open!"
Powerful Chakra surged out in an instant. Neji, who had still been able to keep him tied down, saw his expression change slightly. It seemed the strength he had shown so far was no longer enough to deal with him.
Not just his strength—his speed also increased instantly. Even though he anticipated the elbow strike, he could not react in time.
The elbow came crashing down, and the tremendous force sent his entire body skidding across the ground, sliding sideways before smashing into a tree.
Good lord, that had nearly blown up this Shadow Clone and made it self-destruct.
Tenten's quiet words reached his ears, drawing a faint smile from Neji. It seemed she was ready.
Still, forcing Teacher Might Guy to open one gate counted as passing. Next, hehe...
"Alright! That is enough."
The Chakra around Guy subsided, and his expression became serious. Looking toward the edge of the forest, the corner of his mouth twitched.
Did they really think he did not know that Tenten had run inside to set traps? He might have been hot-blooded,
but how many who had survived a war were not battle-hardened veterans?
"Come out, Tenten! Clean up the things inside."
"Okay!"
Somewhat dejected, Tenten walked out from behind a large tree behind Neji, disappointment written all over her face.
That disappointed little look even made Guy wonder just how much stuff she had set up for him.
But that was no longer his problem!
He laughed heartily.
The merciless praise machine activated.
"Yosh! Everyone performed extremely well. I am quite surprised that you were able to make me use the Eight Gates."
"I declare that everyone has passed!"
Rock Lee, clutching his abdomen, limped over. Neji emerged from behind a large tree, his figure flickered, and he walked over as well.
Rock Lee furrowed his brow, seeming to notice that something was wrong. It seemed like he was the only one getting beaten up.
