The Lineage Factor is Vinsmoke-derived technology described as a “Life Blueprint.” It combines perfect cloning with genetic adjustment, allowing a researcher to reproduce biological material and alter genes. Neji identified it as a potential way to work with Chakra-based bloodlines and Kekkei Genkai, though he was uncertain how well it would interact with the Naruto world’s biology 7.

Neji initially planned to use the technology to clone Byakugan and investigate the creation of a Tenseigan. His early obstacle was not cloning itself, but the equipment required and the unknown process for fusing the eyes 9. The cloned Byakugan also required Chakra cultivation to awaken; without that nurturing, they were merely useless replicas 17.
