Deep in the Icefield Untrodden by Humans, an Uninvited Guest from the Northlands

The knights set out, and unsurprisingly, several dozen Frost Lizardfolk from a single tribe were captured and brought back beneath Rhino Horn Mountain.

Orcs were typically cowards before the strong. After being threatened with clubs for a while, these Frost Lizardfolk quickly became obedient orc slaves.

However, they looked as though they were incapable of doing anything. As Ryan considered how to use up these orcs, he questioned them.

"Where did you live before?"

Several dozen Frost Lizardfolk all started shouting answers at once.

"In icefield caves."

It was an answer that was no answer at all. The Frost Lizardfolk lived beneath layers of ice and snow, moving through caves, but they had no idea where those caves were, in which direction they lay, or how much difference there was in time and latitude from the lands to the South.

Ryan asked several times, but the orcs could not give him a proper answer. They only knew that they lived in icefield caves. They had lived there before, and they lived there now. It sounded no different at all.

He changed his question.

"How did you get here?"

"Why did you appear near humans?"

The stupid-looking Frost Lizardfolk tilted their heads and replied:

"Huh? The chieftain brought us here, so we came."

They knew nothing when asked. In short, other than eating and sleeping, all their activities depended on the chieftain's orders.

"Then how long did it take you to walk here from your previous caves?"

The Frost Lizardfolk widened their eyes. They did not even possess a concept of time.

That gave Ryan a headache. He could not help looking toward the Knight Retainers who had captured the Frost Lizardfolk.

Jean lowered his head, feeling embarrassed
