O'Connor was furious. Even after the Mud Leg who had tried to assassinate him had been beheaded, his anger remained unquenched. No one knew how terrified he had been that day.

A noble lord who feared death naturally hated the culprit beyond measure. Yet the soldiers sent to hunt down the assassin's accomplices had returned empty-handed.

"What good are you lot? You couldn't even bring back the assassins who dared to murder me!"

The Baron cursed furiously, then heard the soldiers' panicked explanation.

"Dawn Cleric?"

"That missionary?"

Baron O'Connor fell silent. A missionary represented religious faith and possessed tremendous status and backing. More importantly, the Church of Light in the Andara Kingdom now came from the Empire, and that Dawn Cleric was an Imperial.

Too many matters were involved. First was Baron Ryan of the Frozen Earth Territory. Although the Northern Baron was not in the Andara Kingdom, his influence over the kingdom was terrifying. Rumor had it that the Royal Family's bloodline curse had not completely vanished, yet that Northern Baron had still borne the curse of the gods and helped Sir Darryl achieve legend.

With a legend, the Andara Royal Family had finally stabilized, and the Andara Kingdom no longer had so many tangled complications.

Moreover, this missionary Sven seemed to have come to the kingdom because of Baron Ryan. Everyone knew that the Columbus royal family member was actually dead, so the highest authority over the faith of Light in the Andara Kingdom was Sven.

Since Baron Ryan was involved, and Cleric Sven was in Dawn City, this concerned another noble as well.

Queen Leta also seemed to be very close to the Northern Baron. Not only that, she was the sister of the kingdom's only current Grand Duke and the last Queen of the previous King.
