Frozen Earth Territory, fortress defense line.

Military fortresses had originally been built here to defend against orc invasions from the Northlands. Before the Northern Great Wall was erected, this place had been the border of the Frozen Earth Territory.

Orcs would always invade, especially in winter, when they struggled to find food for themselves and began setting their sights on the humans of the South.

But now, the fortress defense line had become entirely a logistical hub for the Northern Great Wall. All supplies needed by that sturdy stronghold standing upon the Snow Plains passed through here.

This was also the warehouse of the Frozen Earth Territory. It was cold enough to preserve goods, while not being too far from either the North or the South.

The wolf packs were the guardians here. They adapted to the bitter cold of the North and traveled through the dense Mountain Forest. Fenrir's people were born warriors, as well as the absolute companions of the wolves.

Egil rarely returned here. He was no longer the king of the wolf packs, so every military fortress along the defense line now had its own garrison chief, equivalent to the head of a large family.

Granville was such a leader. He was responsible for the daily operations of a military fortress. When necessary, he had to lead the manpower from the seven or eight families under his management and join the other forts in forming a convoy to transport supplies to the Northern Great Wall.

He had already carried out such missions two or three times. Lately, he had been free, because all the resources needed by the Northern Great Wall had been delivered before winter arrived.
