Hot Spring Fortress could not completely block the Orc Army to the north. Large numbers of orcs had infiltrated Hot Spring Province from both sides of the fortress.

The Empire's army did not remain entrenched within the fortress either. The mobility of horses allowed soldiers to appear in many places, turning the entirety of Hot Spring Province into a battlefield.

The lands within Hot Spring Province were almost all divided according to the names of hot springs. Hot springs of various sizes represented different regions of this land.
