Corland Kingdom Legion.
This was an aristocratic army that had endured war. After the war ended, power returned to the Kingdom, and it eventually became the Kingdom Legion.
The soldiers within had once come from various Noble Territories, but now, they belonged only to the entire kingdom.
The King's authority was the symbol of this legion's honor. Yet as the army became centralized, its steadily rising expenses also became a problem facing the entire kingdom.
First came military funding. The Corland Kingdom Legion required military expenditures, and the scale of those expenditures was not determined entirely by the Corland Kingdom itself.
The Northern Military Council exercised powerful military oversight over the armies of every nation, and a lack of money would certainly affect the Kingdom Legion's combat strength.
At present, the Corland Kingdom Legion's military expenses were covered by kingdom taxes. The tribute nobles paid to the King had gradually become taxes paid to the entire kingdom, but for the kingdom, this revenue still struggled to fully cover the Corland Kingdom Legion's expenses.
It was not as simple as collecting money and handing it over to the army. It made a wide circuit around the King before finally appearing in the army's hands in the King's name. As for how much there would be, that was an unknown every year.
Then there was the equipment the army needed. The Corland Kingdom Legion could not possibly be an army of mud legs wearing burlap. They needed equipment and weapons, and those things had to be standardized. Mobilizing craftsmen and raw materials had also become troublesome, because the vast majority of them were controlled by the nobles.
Then came what the army needed most: food.
In his own name, the King demanded that all nobles in the kingdom provide sufficient food for
