"My lord, the Wansu Kingdom's army is still sixty li from the Western Forest Sea."
"At their previous speed, they'll reach the Western Forest Sea tomorrow."
Ryan stood before the sand table. For the first time, he felt the thing had become largely useless. On this land now, aside from Oren City, there was only flat wasteland and forest. Once there were no trees to obstruct the view, the world opened out endlessly.
"How are the arrows coming along?"
"The timber we cut has already been made into sixty thousand arrows, and the craftsmen are being urgently assigned to continue production. However, the blacksmiths here in Oren City don't seem willing to teach their techniques to the apprentices. They only took students because of your pressure, and they're merely having them fire the arrow shafts."
"The forging of arrowheads is very slow. A large portion of the arrows we have right now comes from stores recovered from Oren City's previous wars."
After Ryan listened, his brows furrowed slightly. Then he said, "Have the alchemists move in. Teach those blacksmiths a lesson."
Ryan was in great need of a reserve of arrows now. The image of the Wansu Kingdom's army he had seen in the south kept echoing in his mind. With the Griffin Legion unable to join the battle, he had very few means in hand to fight the sky.
Ryan was naturally not the only one who understood the advantage of the sky. So when the Wansu Kingdom's army from the South approached the Western Forest Sea, the first thing Ryan saw was not the kingdom army he had encountered before, but airships turning their propellers in the sky and scattering all the clouds.
The Magic Crystal Cannons flickered with light, on the verge of erupting at any moment.
