The two Railguns on the back of the Duck Leopard armor—Leopard Type immediately loaded Ultraviolet Rounds and picked off the targeted vampires. From the outside in, from the bottom up, they sent the vampires to their deaths in the order least likely to alert their companions.

The Railguns had been chosen over faster or more powerful weapons because they made less noise. The only thing difficult to conceal was the sound of their bullets cutting through the air.

But the music in the vans had never been turned off, and the racket neatly masked the Railguns' shots.

The specially designed Ultraviolet Rounds enhanced the spread of the radiation-bearing solution after it entered the body. As a result, a single bullet could swiftly finish off a vampire.

Silver bullets were different. If one struck a nonvital area, a vampire could survive by promptly cutting out the affected flesh. Without hitting a vital spot, it might take a dozen or more silver bullets to kill a vampire quickly and reliably.

Now, a single Ultraviolet Round was enough. No follow-up shots were needed to make the vampire burn from the inside out, turn to ash, and scatter on the wind. Environmentally friendly and pollution-free—it was practically the perfect example of how to kill an enemy.

The sight immediately settled the faint worry that had begun to surface.
