An Unexpected Encounter

Although the Boar Mech could fly, it could only hover. Without grappling hooks and winches to accelerate it, it could do nothing but eat Spider-Man's dust. All Boar could do was watch helplessly as the Green Goblin fell into Spider-Man's hands.

But the next move came with an extra burden, leaving Spider-Man unable to maneuver through three-dimensional space as nimbly as before and toy with the Boar Mech at will.

Without his Goblin Glider, the Green Goblin was completely at others' mercy in midair. Without Spider-Man helping him, he would probably have died beneath that kukri.

Still, Spider-Man could use his webbing for double-swinging in the air and change direction, barely keeping the pig-headed humanoid from catching up. But they had to land eventually. Spider-Man could not keep dragging him around the sky forever.

One flaw of double-swinging was that Spider-Man and the Green Goblin always traveled in opposite directions. Spider-Man had to spend more effort catching up to him before adjusting for the next swing.

Boar only needed to wait until Spider-Man ran out of strength, or until the Green Goblin's momentum completely vanished and he landed. Unless Spider-Man dared to hold the Green Goblin while swinging, just like every time he saved a damsel in distress.

The difference was that the beauties Spider-Man rescued would only stare at him with hearts in their eyes, utterly smitten. Spider-Man, however, could not guarantee that the Green Goblin would not stab him when he got close.

That was why the two kept moving separately, giving the pig-headed metallic man an opening.
