Base Counterattack

Bonnie Mech's electronic warfare capabilities still had room for upgrades and improvement. Inside a military base buried beneath thick concrete, the short-range radio transmissions of walkie-talkies could not be completely jammed by the Bonnie Mech outside.

Perhaps the communication range had been further reduced, and the static over the radios was considerable, but the soldiers' handheld radios could still serve some purpose. They simply could no longer communicate smoothly with every corner of the base as they had before.

The most reliable means remained the base's internal phones, so the flow of information had not been completely cut off.

No deaths had appeared at the invaders' hands so far. However, quite a few people had been paralyzed, and most of those still conscious had been deprived of the ability to move freely.

They had no time to confirm whether those who had lost consciousness were dead or alive. Besides saving themselves, the first thing they did was report the invaders' presence to their superiors and call for help.

The reporting personnel could not determine whether some of the intruders were purely robots. However, their actions bore obvious traces of mechanical devices. That led the base soldiers to rule out the possibility that they were Mutants.

Firearms were useless, as were rifle grenades and hand grenades. Indoors, especially in an underground base, the U.S. military did not dare use more powerful weapons. Someone had gone looking for flamethrowers, but they would not arrive anytime soon.

Upon receiving the report, William Stryker decisively dispatched his strongest team: a group of mind-controlled Mutants led by Lady Deathstrike. Their orders were to kill the intruders on sight.
