  • Yu Hai reflected on Luo Yan's downfall and planned to take his remaining backpack and two Pokémon while letting him live.

Ch. 335Giving Things

Yu Hai tried to pull the devastated Luo Yan back from despair by asking whether he still wanted revenge against Lance and the Black Ship. Luo Yan admitted that he did, but offered Yu Hai his Aggron Pokémon Egg and savings, leaving his next move uncertain.

  • Yu Hai told Luo Yan that he could take his backpack, but Luo Yan said he no longer cared about it and drank until he vomited.
  • Luo Yan explained that the battle had cost him four Pokémon, left Swampert critically injured, and reduced him to a single healthy Flygon; Rhydon had left behind only a Rock Core.
  • Yu Hai asked whether Luo Yan wanted revenge, and Luo Yan said he wanted revenge against Lance and the Black Ship but lacked Pokémon, money, territory, and resources.
  • Luo Yan explained that he had relied on ore to raise Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-type Pokémon, and that losing his mines meant rebuilding his strength could take years.
  • Luo Yan offered Yu Hai his Aggron Pokémon Egg and the password to a bank card holding more than two hundred million, believing the gifts would not help him reach revenge.

Ch. 340Storm's Fury

Luo Yan committed to rebuilding his strength by catching and training Wild Pokémon, while Yu Hai gave him a Spinarak and settled into his own plans aboard the ship to Sunburst Island. Ch. 341Counting Money

Yu Hai sorted the spoils from more than forty backpacks, separating money, Pokémon, and items while disposing of trackers and unwanted Pokémon. He planned to seek Muramasa in the Johto Region later to learn his Light Stone cultivation method, once Yu Hai had grown stronger.

  • Yu Hai emptied and inspected the backpacks, threw away flashy bags and electronic devices, and set Storm's backpack aside to examine last.

Ch. 343Storm's Good Stuff

  • Yu Hai threw Storm’s recognizable gold, silver, and jewelry into the sea so they could not be traced back to him.

Ch. 344Arrival at Sunburst Island

Ch. 346A Pleasant Surprise

Yu Hai and Luo Yan entered Sunburst Island’s forest after sorting through Luo Yan’s Pokémon catches, hoping to find Crystal Onix and useful Pokémon. Yu Hai revealed that he had stolen Storm’s backpack and enlisted Luo Yan to help move the contraband, leaving Luo Yan worried about the danger but reassured that Yu Hai would not silence him.

  • Yu Hai gave Luo Yan five minutes to get ready, then ate breakfast with him before they headed toward the forest in search of Crystal Onix.
  • Yu Hai checked the Pokémon Luo Yan had caught overnight and had him release nearly all of them, keeping a Bellsprout with fifty Potential as a possible choice.
  • Yu Hai released his own low-value Pokémon into the forest and told Luo Yan he had taken goods during the Black Market chaos and needed Luo Yan’s connections to sell them.
  • Luo Yan recalled that Storm had often carried a Vulpix, and Yu Hai revealed that he had stolen Storm’s backpack, which contained contraband.
  • Luo Yan warned that selling the goods could expose them to Storm, then admitted he feared Yu Hai might kill him to keep the secret.
  • Yu Hai laughed off Luo Yan’s fear and assured him he would not kill him, while privately treating the disclosure as a test of his loyalty.

Ch. 347Luo Yan, Oh Luo Yan

Ch. 348Crystal Onix

Yu Hai found and caught a Crystal Onix after Poliwhirl and Kingler repeatedly lured it out of its cave and Scyther helped defeat it. After inspecting its unusual Ice and Ground typing and deciding it was not worth raising, Yu Hai prepared to leave, but a distant stranger asked him to hand over the Crystal Onix.

  • Yu Hai used stones and mud from a distance to confirm that a transparent Crystal Onix was hiding in the pool, then withdrew with Scyther when it roared.
  • Yu Hai sent Poliwhirl and Kingler back to harass Crystal Onix, and they repeatedly dirtied its pool until it finally charged out of the cave.
  • Yu Hai ordered Kingler to hold Crystal Onix’s tail while Poliwhirl and Scyther attacked, then caught the unconscious Pokémon in a Poké Ball.

  • As Yu Hai prepared to leave with the Crystal Onix, a distant stranger asked him to give it over.

Ch. 349Crystal Onix

The author discussed possible type combinations for Crystal Onix and Crystal Steelix, concluding that a normal Onix might suit the protagonist’s rain team better but was unlikely to be caught. The chapter also said Swampert’s Egg and a legendary Pokémon Egg were expected to hatch at Magikarp Waterfall, where the protagonist would search for an exceptionally talented Magikarp.

  • The author compared Crystal Onix’s possible typings and chose Ice/Ground, with Ice/Steel for its possible evolution, Crystal Steelix.
  • The author considered a normal Onix for the protagonist’s team but noted its heavy appetite, weakness to Water attacks, and poor ability to fight in rain.
  • The author judged Scizor and Magneton more suitable for a rain team than Onix, though the protagonist wanted legendary Pokémon instead of Magneton.
  • The author expected Swampert’s Pokémon Egg and the legendary Pokémon Egg to hatch at Magikarp Waterfall on Sweet Orange Island.
  • The author said the protagonist would stay there to find a Magikarp with exceptional talent, while noting that Gastly’s evolution and regression talent would remain unusually powerful.
