The origin of the name "Eight Greed Kings" was merely a derogatory term later natives of this world used for those great beings. The title those great beings had called themselves back then was not "Eight Greed Kings."
They received that title mainly because those great beings had indulged their desires, conquered the continent, slaughtered heteromorphic and demi-human races at will, and destroyed countless powerful, outstanding civilizations.
They had even used their immense power to dominate this world almost in an instant. Thus, the people of this world saw them as Demon Kings who indulged their desires—the "Eight Greed Kings."
Lady Muspelheim was the only woman among those eight great beings, as well as YGGDRASIL's second World Champion. (The first was Skeleton King's close friend, Touch-Me.)
Before the "Eight Greed Kings" split apart due to infighting, she had left the guild alone and vanished without a trace.
Now, more than five hundred years later, someone could actually speak Lady Muspelheim's name and knew of her affairs. Perhaps this person truly was Lady Muspelheim's descendant!
NPC loyalty in YGGDRASIL was absolute. Yet Emiliena and the others, who had long lost their masters, could only abide by the final command those great beings had left them: guard this Sky Castle and give trials and rewards to challengers.
To continue serving those great beings was their lifelong dream, but those great beings had either perished in infighting or disappeared without a trace.
If the human before them truly was Lady Muspelheim's descendant, they would surely follow him unto death. For Guardians like them, nothing was more exhilarating than pledging loyalty to their lord's descendant.
