By the bedside, Lale was carefully tucking Orga in. He had already fallen asleep.
When a soft knock sounded at the door, Maid Miss pushed it open and walked in, carrying some clothes that she set down.
Lale glanced at them and opened his mouth.
This woman... She changed outfits again. Just how many clothes does she change into in one night?
However, after setting down the clothes, Maid Miss merely nodded and smiled before turning to leave without saying a word... Lale hesitated for a moment, then hurried after her.
"Wait..."
Outside the door, Lale gently closed it while lowering her voice.
"Is something the matter, Lale?" You Ye asked calmly.
"Well... um..." Lale stammered for a while before saying softly, "Well... thank you for letting us stay here for the night..."
"If you want to thank her, shouldn't you do it in person?"
Lale opened her mouth, only to look up and meet Maid Miss's half-smiling expression.
Inside the room, in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, Luo Qiu had a thin blanket draped over his legs. Only a reading lamp was lit beside him.
The book he was reading had been provided in the suite's study. It was a collection of essays about British folklore.
When You Ye brought Lale in, Boss Luo happened to be reading the story of Mordred's rebellion.
"Is something the matter, Lale?" Luo Qiu closed the book, rose to his feet, and casually set the blanket aside.
"Lale said she wanted to thank you in person, Master." You Ye came to Luo Qiu's side and spoke softly.
He looked toward the beastwoman and noticed that the animal ears atop her head were trembling slightly. She seemed extremely ill at ease, so he asked, "Do you like tea, Lale?"
"Huh?"
Luo Qiu smiled.
