Gradually, figures began to struggle up the cliffs from the huge crack beneath the castle—they were the vampires from the escort convoy whose transport equipment had been destroyed and who had fallen while the Golden Dragon rampaged, along with some of the Crops.
"Quick, come help! Recover the Crops!"
A vampire was directing the rescue efforts here.
After Kuroroa and the Golden Dragon's final earth-shaking battle ended, the Golden Dragon vanished... Acting Grand Duke Baelgong did not seem to pursue it, or even intend to search for it. He was currently meeting with the legendary hero of the werewolf tribe, Kuroroa.
Even Bazby, the assistant at the Acting Grand Duke's side, was nowhere to be seen. Several High-ranking Nobles had joined forces to deal with this mess temporarily.
"Is this all the Crops we've recovered?"
In front of the battered transport equipment, a High-ranking Noble could not help frowning. Quite a few members of the escort convoy had escaped, but less than half of this batch of Crops had been recovered.
Most of the Crops had fallen straight into the abyss when the convoy crashed, before anyone could rescue them.
"My lord, going any farther down would cross the warning line... We can't go any deeper." A female vampire from the escort convoy spoke with lingering fear. "It's almost time for those things to become active..."
"Lost Fangs..." The High-ranking Noble pondered for a moment, then shook his head and waved. "Record the names of the escort convoy members who were killed... Take the remaining Crops back to the farm first."
He paused, then continued, "Leave two people behind to watch and see if any survivors manage to climb back up."
The escort convoy members, who had only just settled down after their ordeal, agreed one after another... But could
