At some point, a thin layer of mist began to appear on the streets of the ancient city.
Thunder Tower Master quickly sensed that something was wrong—the place was enveloped by the association's barrier. Although it did not isolate every temperature-related condition... the sudden appearance of fog was clearly unreasonable.
"Look, something is approaching through the mist!" one of the deacons said, pointing in a certain direction.
They all looked over and saw a figure slowly approaching through the gradually thickening mist.
"It could be one of the undead here. Be careful." Thunder Tower Master frowned. He had been left here mainly to guard against these undead breaking through the barrier and wandering into the mortal world.
"It doesn't seem like it..." The deacon who had first spotted it opened his palm. A natural light illuminated the area, and a beam of radiance shone toward it.
The person approaching staggered along, seemingly having great difficulty moving... It gradually became clearer, and soon became visible under the direct light.
"It's Lord Kuroroa!"
Kuroroa looked as though he had suffered severe injuries. He covered his shoulder with one hand and seemed ready to collapse at any moment, while multiple wounds on his body bled without stopping.
At that moment, Kuroroa struggled to raise his head. His lips moved slightly, as if he wanted to say something... but no sound came out, and Kuroroa eventually collapsed to the ground.
Thunder Tower Master was startled, but he did not act immediately. He merely knitted his brows tightly. One of the deacons beside him, however, had already rushed out and gone straight to Kuroroa's side.
"Lord Kuroroa! What happened to you? What happened? Where is our Tower Master?"
The deacon hurriedly helped Kuroroa up from the ground and shook his body... but Kuroroa's eyes were
