In the latter half of the night, the palace guards remained as vigilant as ever.

A figure was sneaking nervously through the palace at that very moment... Ibn, the real Ibn.

He rubbed the back of his neck, feeling that spot ache terribly. He had somewhat forgotten what had happened. He only knew that after waking up, he had found himself hiding inside a large water vat, while the fake Princess and the other two who had infiltrated the palace with him had all disappeared.

What exactly had happened?

Ibn was completely cut off from information, but he vaguely felt that he seemed to have missed a great many things—especially since the palace guards looked unusually strict.

Fortunately, he was wearing a guard's uniform.

"Stop!"

At that moment, a deep shout came from behind him... Ibn was startled, and his body stiffened. He swallowed, then slowly turned around.

Six palace guards in a group were approaching with weapons in hand. It seemed they had just happened to patrol this area and spotted Ibn sneaking around.

Ibn was quite quick-witted. He placed both hands on his belt, pretending to be fastening it, while putting on a fawning smile.

When the patrolling guards saw this, they frowned. The leader even snapped angrily, "Are you crazy? This is the palace!"

"I was in too much of a hurry, too much of a hurry... I really had no choice, brother." Ibn put on a pitiful expression. "Look, I haven't rested at all tonight... Can't you let this slide?"

"Hmph!"

But the leader of the patrol did not believe him. He immediately waved his hand and shouted, "There are six people in every patrol inside the palace right now, yet you're alone here, sneaking around... I suspect you're also a monster in disguise! Seize him!"
