After every activation, it had to be recharged by the gatekeeper of the Eternal Night Palace. Under normal circumstances, one also had to report the situation in which the nameplate had been used.
This was actually meant to collect information about the dangers of different minor worlds. Normally, Transcenders activated their nameplates and left after completing their missions, but there were also cases where they escaped danger by activating the nameplate after encountering something they could not handle.
What they needed to collect were precisely these dangerous situations, so they could accumulate experience and effectively avoid the same dangers during future missions—or allow other members of the organization to avoid them.
