After the closed-door meeting ended, Mr. Gareth of the Knight Organization returned to the hotel where he was staying early and held a video conference with the Queen of Britain.
They discussed matters concerning the New World Alliance... as well as the news that Oceania's Australia had announced its incorporation into the New World Alliance.
More specifically, they discussed the details of Australia's incorporation.
Nominally, the Queen of Britain was also Australia's monarch... of course, by this point, Australia was already a completely independent nation.
The Queen of Britain merely still retained the power to appoint Australia's governor... though Australia's governor held no real authority.
The Knight Organization had once been enormous, and Britain had once been one of the world's hegemonic nations.
Mr. Gareth's video call with Her Majesty the Queen lasted nearly twenty minutes.
Only after that did Mr. Gareth emerge, his face full of weariness.
Lancelot was sitting in the lounge outside the room... she had not taken part in the conversation between Her Majesty the Queen and Gareth.
"The Queen means to persuade the cabinet in the near future and formally sever Britain's murky ties with Australia." Mr. Gareth sat down directly. "The so-called British Commonwealth is merely a system in name only. If Britain wants to regain its former glory, it must abandon glories that have long since rotted away."
Lancelot simply nodded.
As one of the Twelve Knights assigned by the Knight Organization to guard Her Majesty the Queen, she would not participate in any political affairs. She did not even concern herself with the Knight Organization's internal business. She was entirely Her Majesty the Queen's personal guard.
That was how this generation's Lancelot was... she could almost be regarded as an independent individual.
