Clili soon waited for Boss Assath to return, but he pulled her outside and brought her to the Rose Mansion's rose garden, where they sat down on a few wooden stools.
By the light spilling out from the house, Clili noticed that Boss Assath looked rather solemn.
"B-Boss, is there something you want to tell me?"
"Clili, do you still remember what happened when we first met?"
Clili froze for a moment at his words, then gently nodded. "I remember."
She would remember it for the rest of her life.
She silently added that in her heart.
Assath patted Clili on the head and smiled. "Back then, you had only just reached my waist, and you were so thin you looked like a withered branch. You collapsed in the snow, and we didn't know how long you had been unconscious. We all thought you couldn't be saved."
Clili said softly, "You saved me, Boss. You held me in your arms all night and used your body to keep me warm. You even ended up suffering frostbite yourself..."
Mr. Assath smiled casually, then suddenly asked, "Clili, can you remember anything about your past now?"
Clili shook her head.
