At dawn, Daphne was jolted awake by a burst of violent shaking.
Even after more than half a month, Daphne still hadn't gotten used to Mr. J's traveling circus.
The circus stopping meant they had arrived somewhere entirely new. Before the performances began, they would have two days.
Part of that time was for the troupe members to prepare for the performances, while the rest was for them to rest and relax, with the option of going out.
"Haha, I'm going to have a great time this time! I like this seaside town. The girls here must be really passionate!"
By the time Daphne had dressed and stepped out of her room, she could already see the circus troupe discussing plans to go out.
Daphne had no intention of joining in the excitement. Even though the circus members had begun accepting the shy girl and had invited her along.
"What? It's rare to come to the seaside. Aren't you going to have some fun? If we come near the sea again, it might not be for a long time."
"Mr. J!" Daphne called out politely, then asked curiously, "Why does the circus always have to go to different places... Maybe we don't need to move around so often?"
"People's sense of novelty fades quickly." J spoke casually. "Ever since magic was developed, people have kept figuring out its secrets. At first, it was a mysterious form of performance, but once people understood the principles behind it, they quickly lost interest. In fact, it's not just magic. Other types of performances are the same. Perhaps only children never tire of them."
Daphne opened her mouth... After a while, she suddenly asked, "Mr. J, is magic... difficult to learn?"
