The sound of beating wings.

The Blue Bird flew away from Boss Luo the next second... taking away a name that belonged to it, while also leaving behind the memory of how it had obtained that name.

Before long, it gradually forgot even the name it had taken away.

It never remembered that it had once stopped somewhere and met someone similar to J.

Soon, it landed again. This time, it landed at the Human Monument... The Blue Bird flew headfirst into the monument. Its body seemed to pass through a curtain of water, then vanished.

Inside the monument, the space resembled a pile of building blocks that had been jumbled up. Countless three-dimensional spaces were piled together at odd angles... without the slightest semblance of order.

Yet within each independent space, things felt perfectly normal. Even though from the outside, a person inside appeared to be standing at an angle.

"J!"

"Latios?"

In the slanted independent space... inside a house, Leader J was seated before a simple long table, polishing a small black wooden stick. It was the sort of magical prop Magicians used most often, one that could make flowers appear.

The Blue Bird stood on the table and instinctively preened its feathers.

"Are you alone?" Leader J asked calmly.

"We slipped out of the estate, but Qing Tian and the others were captured again afterward. It was those guys who came with us on the airship."

"It's fine." Leader J smiled faintly. After tapping the magic wand against the table a few times, some birdseed slowly poured out of it. "Those people are actually quite interesting."

Feeding it seemed to soothe him. Leader J affectionately stroked the Blue Bird's head.

"By the way, J, I have a question."

"What is it?"

"Why am I called Latios?"
