Even the cadets from a pilot school were not necessarily stronger than well-trained base guards, let alone a large number of them... If these guards had not lost their minds and relied on such one-dimensional attacks, they would have been difficult to deal with.
But for Miley to break through the encirclement all by herself was already remarkable.
Mei Xi could not help taking a few more looks at the girl from the campus Inspection Team. "How much ammunition do you have left?"
"One magazine." Miley answered quickly. "There seem to be seven rounds left in the gun."
The howls of bullets and the roars of the crazed guards continued without end... but the gunfire was becoming increasingly sparse. There probably were not many people still putting up a desperate resistance inside the base.
The situation had never been worse.

"I tried contacting the survivors, but the situation is terrible." Miley covered the communicator with one hand, her face pale. "The exits of every passage are blocked. Something must have gone wrong at the control center... Besides, if this continues, we won't last much longer."
"Go to the hangar." Mei Xi took a deep breath. "It's our only option."
Miley froze for a moment, then nodded firmly. If Mei Xi could board God Eater, these guards would naturally no longer be frightening... But was the ultimate weapon meant to fight the Messengers really about to turn its blade against humanity?
"We can't let these soldiers leave the base." Mei Xi's voice was heavy. "Once they leave, it will undoubtedly be a
