On the way to the Guishun Ruins, although Zhou Runfa looked like he was strolling along leisurely, Liming had to push himself to barely keep up. This meant that Zhou Runfa was actually moving very quickly; he merely looked relaxed.
They had set out from Li Po's camp and were heading toward another fierce tribe of the Jiuli Tribe—Li Wu's camp.
They were already more than halfway there, yet the two of them had not exchanged a single word along the way. Liming Jiang Qiyun had wanted to say something to Ji Fa, who was using the alias Zhou Runfa, but he had never found the opportunity.
There was something else that troubled Old Jiang greatly. They had encountered several Dao Rhyme Pupils on the road, but in order to keep Ji Fa from discovering his true identity, Old Jiang had been forced to give them up despite the pain.
He had said he was avoiding the Dao Rhyme Pupils to prevent his identity from being exposed, but with Ji Fa's personality, Ji Fa should not have cared about such things. Then why didn't Ji Fa collect them either?
"You didn't seem to intend to let me follow you from the beginning."
Suddenly, Ji Fa—Zhou Runfa—spoke, nearly making Old Jiang miss his footing and fall from the tree.
He could only answer with unusual composure, "Why would you think that?"
"I was just asking." Zhou Runfa suddenly bared his teeth in a grin. "If you say no, then we'll just take a walk together."
Old Jiang could not help asking with a frown, "What if I say yes?"
Zhou Runfa smiled casually. "It's pretty quiet here. Killing you to silence you should be quite discreet."
Had he seen through my disguise?
Old Jiang's heart jolted. He was facing Ji Fa.
