Si Wuxie looked somewhat astonished at the sudden appearance of a hidden door in the room—it had been opened by Nightingale.
They were no longer in the room where they had originally been healing, but had been moved elsewhere. The room before them was rather unsettling... It looked like a torture chamber, with various instruments of torture, including some that Si Wuxie had only heard of and never actually seen.
In truth, however, this was not a place for punishing disobedient girls. It was a place where customers with certain peculiar tastes could amuse themselves.
"Although the painted boat pays tribute to the local South Heaven Gate every month... routine inspections still take place, so we set up some hidden doors." Nightingale pointed at the passage behind the door. "Once you leave through here, you can avoid the South Heaven Gate cultivators aboard the ship. There's a diving vessel inside."
"But your injury..." Si Wuxie instinctively frowned.
"Much better." Nightingale smiled. "The painted boat has been damaged this badly, so it probably won't be operating for a while. Even if I don't receive guests, Granny Fiery won't suspect me for the time being."
Nightingale bore a palm injury inflicted by Granny Fiery, something that would be easy to discover.
But Si Wuxie believed that even if the boat stopped operating, Granny Fiery would find some excuse to inspect every girl and servant aboard.
As though she had taken a liking to Si Wuxie, Nightingale said directly, "I've been able to stay by Granny's side for so long for a reason... Don't worry, I'll find a way. You should leave quickly. I'll find an opportunity to contact you again... Here's a list of the names of some sisters on the other painted boats. Please keep it safe."
