Outside a small house, the Second Blade Emperor smiled at a group of children hugging all kinds of snacks and said,
"Can we come back and play with you tomorrow?"
"I have something to do tomorrow. Some other time."
After pushing open the gate to the small house's front yard, the Second Blade Emperor found that despite being gone for several years, the courtyard had not become overgrown with weeds. Instead, it had been kept spotlessly clean... There was hardly any dust inside or outside the house, either.
That was because the neighbors nearby often came over to clean it.
Looking at the gifts piled up in front of the entrances of several households, the Second Blade Emperor scratched his head subconsciously, looking rather troubled. He was not one to waste things, but neither did he plan to live here for long.
The house was where he had lived as a child. After leaving the outer ring and entering the Second Family, he had kept it, coming back only when he had free time... perhaps staying for a few nights.
The Second Blade Emperor pondered for a moment. Then he raised a finger to his lips and whistled... Before long, a shadow descended. It was a Giant Eagle standing fully as tall as a person.
The Second Blade Emperor chuckled and stroked the Giant Eagle for a while before ordering, "Take these things back to the residence and distribute them among the servants."
As he spoke, the Second Blade Emperor picked out several fresh fish from the pile of gifts and tossed them directly into the Giant Eagle's beak. Then he patted its head. "Go. I'll stay here for a while."
