Upon closer inspection, the wires had actually been fired from the Mechanical Guard's palm, wrapping around Miss Xiangxiang's body before the flashes of electricity began.
But no matter the form it took, under the high voltage, Miss Xiangxiang immediately fell into agony. Her whole body convulsed violently before she collapsed to the ground.
Her consciousness began to blur... as did her vision. She had practically gone deaf, with only a piercing buzz ringing in her head.
Suddenly, a flash of light flared.
With her eyes pressed against the floor, she could barely make out a blurry figure that rammed into the Mechanical Guard. The Aurora Blade in their hand pierced straight through its body.
There was also an Energy Gun... a weapon capable of instantly paralyzing the Mechanical Guard.
She felt someone shaking her... Xiangxiang's eyelids grew heavier and heavier. The other person's appearance was extremely familiar through her blurred vision—then a sudden pain came from her neck.
Xiangxiang sucked in a deep breath, like the first breath taken by someone waking from drowning.
"Xiangxiang! Xiangxiang!"
Her vision returned, and so did her hearing... Miss Xiangxiang seized the other person in terror. The sudden fear still hadn't faded, and she called out the savior's name again and again. "Father, Father... Father!"
"All right, all right, it's fine! I gave you a shot of cardiac stimulant. You should be fine."
It really was her father.
Her father had rescued her from the Mechanical Guard.
"Father..."
"You have to leave this place immediately!"
Xiangxiang's father didn't wait for his daughter to speak. He picked her up and dashed out of the house... even out of the residential complex. The vehicle he drove wasn't the electric wheelchair he usually used, but a purely mechanical motorcycle powered by an internal combustion engine.
This was
