For the past few days, [Rogue] City had remained bustling, because all the famous pirate crews had coincidentally begun recruiting new members to replenish their forces.
Pirate crews recruiting people was nothing unusual. After all, even ironclad ships needed a constant flow of sailors, and the mortality rate in the Void Pirates' trade was extremely high.
But with so many pirate crews recruiting at once, something seemed off. Of course, this was the pirates' home base, and no one was going to jump out and criticize them.
Everything proceeded in orderly fashion.
"...What did you say? You found that monkey?"
Inside the magnificent captain's cabin, Captain [Barbossa], dressed in luxurious clothes from head to toe, could not help but freeze.
"Yes. A woman brought your monkey here to claim the reward," the sailor said quickly. "She also requested to see you! She's an exceptionally rare beauty!"
Captain [Barbossa] frowned. Whether she was beautiful or not was irrelevant. He had been cursed, leaving him with nothing but a skeleton. He had long since lost interest in such lowly pleasures.
After thinking briefly, [Barbossa] directly ordered the sailor to bring her in.
The moment they met, Captain [Barbossa] understood. She truly could be called a beauty—even the women he had seen in the past could only be described as vulgar, ordinary powder.
Her exceptionally beautiful red eyes were especially striking. Even he could not help being amazed by them—and then that was it.
He was just a skeleton, and a genuinely old one at that. What kind of vigor could he possibly have?
"Are you the one who found my monkey and requested to see me?" Captain [Barbossa] asked leisurely. "State your request. I, Captain [Barbossa], am the most trustworthy man around."
"I want to join your pirate crew!"
