The auction had already begun. The first lot was onstage, and the auctioneer was explaining it.
Below the stage.
"Mr. Sha Ke, if you need anything, just have someone let me know."
"Of course. Thank you, Mr. Kearns."
Sha Ke exchanged these pleasantries without betraying anything, because just then, he had caught a familiar figure flashing past—he knew that figure from behind all too well.
It was Sauce, one of his four missing subordinates.
Once Kearns left, Sha Ke discreetly headed after that familiar figure... The Golden Hook was scheduled late in the auction, so he had plenty of time.
Sha Ke had spent a long time preparing for the Golden Hook at this auction—he had learned early on that it had fallen into the hands of the Sky Dome auction house, and had been waiting for it to go on sale ever since.
For that purpose, Sha Ke had prepared a substantial sum of money.
He had secretly arranged for Sauce and the others to slip into Malindo to sell goods and raise funds... During this period, Sauce and the others had frequently visited the Sky Dome auction house.
Everything had gone smoothly at first, and Sauce's group had sold most of Sha Ke's goods—there had originally been another batch they were supposed to bring over and sell today... Failing that, they could use it to offset the outstanding balance after winning the Golden Hook.
But now the goods were gone.
"I thought you'd just stolen my goods and run off. I never imagined you'd actually dare come here! Fine, fine, fine! After all these years, I've never treated you badly..."
Anger flared in Sha Ke's heart. Killing intent lurked in his chest like an erupting volcano, growing almost impossible to suppress... He felt hot and restless.
