Ren Ziling had just come out of the restroom when she glanced at the event venue inside the plaza and discovered that the event had not yet begun.
"Has Jiaya still not come out?"
Tu Jiaya was not the sort of person who was habitually late. Ren Ziling knew that.
Earlier, Tu Jiaya had replied that she had something to attend to that evening and had canceled their gathering at the last minute. Ren Ziling had not found that strange—after all, she was Big Star. Her schedule probably could not be squeezed around at will.
But failing to show up for this fan meeting was abnormal. Could something have happened?
"The number you have dialed is switched off. We will send your dialing information by text message..."
Ren Ziling hung up and frowned. After looking around the venue, she headed toward the lounge the mall had arranged for Tu Jiaya.
Not long afterward, Ren Ziling saw the bodyguard KingKong, whom she had met once before, in the corridor. He seemed not to notice her and hurried past instead, looking as if he were searching for something.
That immediately aroused Ren Ziling's intense professional curiosity.
Ren Ziling quietly watched KingKong suddenly stop and take out his phone. Pretending to be someone browsing the mall, she walked past him.
"Have you searched the east wing? We've gone through most of the other places too... Where did she go? Her phone's switched off as well. I understand. I'll wait for you to come over, Miss Shu... Yes, yes, I understand."
After KingKong hung up, he failed to notice that the person who had just walked past him had heard every word. He simply went off to search in another direction.
Ren Ziling frowned.
Had Tu Jiaya disappeared? It should not have been long
