When he saw the exaggerated Buddha statue in the lobby of the Chinatown Chamber of Commerce building again, Luo Qiu suddenly asked curiously, "So this Buddha statue was arranged by Blind Master?"
The angle at which the statue was placed was rather unusual, as was the "life gate" of the Chamber of Commerce building.
"It wasn't the Buddha statue, but it was also arranged by one of Blind Master's friends from Nanyang." Song Haoran was lighting incense. "Speaking of which, Blind Master always says that Buddhism and Taoism share the same origin. So although he looks like a Taoist priest, he doesn't reject Buddhist things at all."
"You seem to believe in this sort of thing." Luo Qiu glanced at the Buddha statue again.
Song Haoran clasped his hands together. The lit sandalwood incense was held between his fingers. He closed his eyes and bowed devoutly several times before placing the incense into the burner.
"I actually don't believe in this stuff." Song Haoran chuckled. "If there are gods in this world, then the god is definitely me. Because only I can make myself accomplish the impossible. So the person I worship is myself."
Luo Qiu sized up Song Haoran and suddenly said, "That's true. Only when one has a god of one's own dwelling in one's heart can one be invincible."
Song Haoran was delighted that Luo Qiu hadn't undermined his confidence. At the same time, he sized up Luo Qiu as well. "What about you? What kind of god dwells in your heart?"
The question caught Luo Qiu off guard. After thinking carefully, he answered uncertainly, "I suppose it can only be myself as well."
