Before Paradise, a pure-white unicorn slowly folded its wings and landed upon the clouds. A warrior clad in gold-and-silver armor, with three pairs of luminous wings on her back, dismounted.
Several two-winged angels in white robes hurried forward, calling the warrior's name: Lucifer.
The great Star of Dawn, the archangel who commanded the angels, the star of victory whose very name terrified Hell... if worship had existed in Paradise, Archangel Lucifer would probably have had more admirers than anyone there except Him.
"Lady Lucifer, you've returned early?" an angel asked curiously.
Lucifer removed her helmet... angels had no gender, but Lucifer's beauty was enough to eclipse all the angels around her.
"Yes, we finished the sweep ahead of schedule. The angelic forces are still behind me. I came back first to tell Father the good news." Lucifer smiled faintly.
It was a heartwarming smile. Even fellow angels were touched by it, as though happiness had already arrived... the Star of Dawn, the morning star that brought hope.
"Where is Father?" Lucifer asked next.
"The Lord is in His palace," an angel answered. "But He is receiving a guest and instructed us not to disturb Him."
Lucifer paused. "Father's guest? The Buddha of the Pure Land, or the master at the end of the Ganges?"
But the angel who knew about the visit could only shake their head. "I don't know exactly who it is, but it shouldn't be either of those two."
"I see." Lucifer nodded. "Keep guarding your posts. I'll go in myself."
The angels on guard had no objections. The archangel before them, together with the other archangel, Gabriel, was known as God's Left and Right Hands. They were entitled to move freely throughout Paradise.
