Many students and teachers were working with their heads down, hurrying back and forth between the various instruments.
Lu Geng, Yu Banmeng, and Cha Xinran sat in the corner lounge, disheveled and nodding off. They had clearly stayed up all night, utterly exhausted.
Suddenly, cheers and applause erupted in the laboratory, the sound shaking the heavens!
The three students looked up. Sure enough, Song He had just entered the laboratory, and everyone in white coats was enthusiastically welcoming him.
"Thank you, everyone! Thank you, everyone!" Song He clasped his hands and replied with a smile. "Work hard, everyone, and try to win a Nobel Prize each! Let's make Nobel Prizes as common in our laboratory as cabbages!"
The laboratory instantly filled with laughter. The students were greatly encouraged, and after applauding once more, they all got busy again, their motivation doubled.
Song He turned to look around, then walked straight toward the lounge.
"Are you going back to catch up on sleep, or will you hold on a little longer while I talk to you?"
"Hold on a little longer!" Lu Geng said. "We're not tired!"
"Don't stay up all night like this. Everyone has a different constitution. Some people's genes make them good at staying up late, while others absolutely need to get enough sleep." Song He gave them a stern warning. "You three have what it takes to become Excellent Youth and Distinguished Young Scholars. I know of several Excellent Youth and Distinguished Young Scholars who worked themselves to death and died before reaching forty. It wasn't worth it! This isn't something to joke about!"
