The message was from Fan Tao. She first attached several photos of the team members holding a meeting in the lab, then began rambling on.
We had held several meetings and gotten into several arguments over the direction of our research.
Lou Jinghui wanted to work on confocal microscopy imaging technology, to see whether he could use the equipment to churn out a paper for a top journal. He wanted to apply for a Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope and produce fluorescent images of fine internal tissue structures. Drug formulation mucus penetration and mouse neural stem cell slices could all be studied with it. He planned to look for opportunities to publish papers as he worked.
Ji Tianhe wanted to study the hippocampal spatial coding. He planned to apply for a batch of Autistic Mice, observe the activity of Hippocampal Place Cells, and explore how episodic memory affected cognition of the external world. The project would require electrodes, an Artificial Brain Worm, and VR equipment. The Autistic Mice would be trained to remember the location of sugar water, while they observed whether the firing frequency of certain brain cells increased.
Professor Lu Chengen was comparatively laid-back. He planned to continue advancing his research on sleep, using Short Sleep Pills directly as a tool and observing various animals after they took them. He would look for any Brain Activity mechanisms the academic world had overlooked. He believed it would be easy to churn out one or two papers for top journals.
So everyone sent me to ask what you thought. Which of these three paths should we take? Or should we take none of them?
Will you be coming back to conduct experiments with us anytime soon? If you come back, we'll be very happy. If you don't, and we're ready to
