"I'm very pleased," You Deyi said. "After all these years, someone has finally appeared who can discuss the You Deyi School with me."
"How could a student dare!" Song He was startled. "I only wanted to worship the Grandmaster's profound theories!"
"What you've learned is already everything," You Deyi explained. "I founded the You Deyi School in my prime, when my mind was sharp."
"I originally intended to dig deeper and develop the theories that came later, but then a great deal of weapons research work came along. By the time I finished, I was already very old. When I turned back to study the theories of the You Deyi School, I found that I could hardly make any progress. The inspiration I had back then was gone."
"Now I'm like an old man climbing a mountain," You Deyi said with a laugh. "The steps on the mountain path are clearly only that high, but no matter what, I can't climb any farther. My legs don't work anymore, and an invisible wall of air is blocking me."
"Then may I try continuing your theories?" Song He asked for his opinion.
"You've got quite some nerve!" You Deyi took a drag of his cigarette, then nodded. "You can try, but don't stubbornly force it. You're still young. If you can't continue the theories, it means your foundation isn't deep enough yet. There's no hurry; accumulate more knowledge for a few years first."
"Understood!" Song He nodded repeatedly. "You don't have a written theory for the next step, but is there some general direction you could point me toward?"
You Deyi shook his head. "No. You'll have to find your own way. If you really manage to complete the subsequent theories, don't attach the name of the You Deyi School to them.
