Dorm 101.
Song He was absorbed in reading the Russian Math Book.
Unlike the style of the math textbooks commonly used in China, the Russian Math Book covered concepts in finer detail and taught all kinds of problem variations step by step. It felt like chewing up mathematical knowledge and feeding it straight into your mouth.
The exercises at the end of each chapter were also harder. Frankenstein problems were everywhere; even an inconspicuous little question tested seven or eight different concepts, making it an extreme test of a student's breadth of knowledge!
As Song He studied, he realized that Xie Kefu's warning had been right. The amount of computation was enormous.
An ordinary student working by hand would probably need six or seven boxes of scratch paper to finish this book. Song He seriously suspected that the author had reached some deep strategic partnership with a paper mill.
A sly student would use a calculator. By the time they finished the book, their fingers would probably have developed tenosynovitis from pressing the buttons.
Fortunately, Song He belonged to the category of abnormal students. After swallowing three Mental Arithmetic Capsules, even the most tedious calculations became effortless. And if that wasn't enough, he could simply take three more Mental Arithmetic Capsules!
Mathematics Progress detected. Rising from Gold Level 41 to Gold Level 42! Mathematics Progress detected. Rising from Gold Level 42 to Gold Level 43!
Before he knew it, it was half past one. He collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep.
An hour later, he sprang back to life and returned to the desk to keep grinding through mathematics!
Perhaps because he had just woken up, Song He's problem-solving speed rose again.
His entire brain became excited by the math problems. His thoughts were unusually
