Song He took out his ID, swiped it over the dormitory door, and pushed his way inside.
Xiang Xiaotong lay in bed wrapped in a blanket, exposing only a small face flushed with fever. Her brows were slightly furrowed, making her look utterly pitiful.
Song He walked over and reached out to touch her forehead.
"I told you not to come." Xiang Xiaotong murmured weakly, opening her eyes.
"The fever isn't too bad. Did you call a doctor?" Song He crouched beside the bed.
Xiang Xiaotong stretched out an arm in a white pajama sleeve, opened the bedside cabinet, felt around, and pulled out a medical mask. She put it on and said, "You should wear one too. I'm afraid I'll infect you."
Song He grabbed a mask and put it on. Beside it lay a diagnosis report and two boxes of medicine. The time on it was this afternoon, so apparently a private doctor had already examined her.
He picked up the diagnosis report and glanced through it. "It's nothing serious."
"Right? It's not a major illness." Xiang Xiaotong said weakly. "You should go and get back to work."
Song He showed no intention of leaving. Suddenly, he reached his hand under the blanket.
"What are you doing?" Xiang Xiaotong cried out in alarm. "Don't take advantage of me while I'm vulnerable!"
"Give me your hand. Let me see your temperature." Song He said.
Xiang Xiaotong hesitated for a moment before obediently extending her hand from beneath the blanket.
"It's freezing!" Song He frowned. "Cold hands and feet mean your temperature is still rising. Give me your feet."
"Don't go too far." Xiang Xiaotong's face was flushed as her legs curled up warily beneath the blanket.
