Cafeteria.
Song He and Xiang Xiaotong sat side by side, munching on youtiao while scrolling through their phones and handling work.
They were still working intensely on reviewing the Hodge Conjecture, with only the final section left.
Suddenly, a new message popped up on Song He's phone.
An Yulong: Thanks to you, six students in the Mathematics Department will have to delay graduation.
Song He froze, his mind filled with question marks.
Six students delaying graduation? What does that have to do with me? Teacher An, did you send this to the wrong person?
An Yulong: I've finished grading the assignments you sent me. There were six conjectures in them, which also happened to be the thesis topics of six students in the Mathematics Department. They hadn't had time to solve them yet.
Song He was stunned. Even his cheeks stopped moving as he chewed on the youtiao.
Xiang Xiaotong noticed that something was wrong with his expression and leaned over to look at the messages.
"Talk about a collision." Xiang Xiaotong clicked her tongue.
"Good news and bad news." Song He lowered his voice. "The good news is that the children at the Genius Institute are improving at an astonishing speed. The problems they can solve now are already equivalent to the level of a university mathematics major..."
"And the bad news?" Xiang Xiaotong asked.
"The bad news is that the UST Math Department isn't very impressive. They used such simple conjectures as graduation theses, which means their graduation standards are pretty watered down." Song He sighed softly.
"Simple?" Xiang Xiaotong asked in confusion. "A conjecture that hasn't been solved for several years can't be considered simple no matter how you look at it, right? It's simple to you, but for students, it's already a very challenging graduation topic!"
