Huge metal components lay inside the crates, all painted the same ocher color as the surrounding ground.
The Teacher Bais pulled dozens of pneumatic picks from the toolboxes and spread out in a large circle. They drilled furiously into the ground, sending dust flying and boring dozens of deep pits. Then they carried out dozens of oversized anchoring spades from the component crates and buried them in the pits.
Anchoring spades were the long supports fixed behind artillery pieces. When a cannon fired, the recoil was tremendous, and anchoring spades driven deep into the earth like roots could withstand it.
But the anchoring spades the Teacher Bais were setting up were far too large, and there were dozens of them. Arranged in a huge circle and pointed toward the center, they were clearly meant to support some super-huge, ferocious monster!
The anchoring spades were roughly set in place, but the entire project had only just begun.
The Teacher Bais ran back and forth, taking more components from the huge crates arranged around them and assembling everything methodically.
First, they used a blasting device to blow a deep pit in the open space at the center of the anchoring spades. Then a group of Teacher Bais jumped down with pickaxes and hammered away inside the pit.
Next, a giant cylindrical launcher five meters tall was carried over by a group of Teacher Bais and slowly lowered into the pit!
Even after it was lowered into the pit, four meters remained exposed aboveground. The cylindrical launcher was three meters in diameter. At first glance, it looked much like an old-fashioned mortar, but it had no large muzzle like a mortar. In reality, it was merely a power-storage launch base.
