Several more smoke grenades were hurled in, and the entire room filled with billowing white smoke, reducing visibility to almost nothing.
The snipers completely lost their targets and began firing wildly. Bullets whistled past one after another, punching large holes in the walls.
"Heavy Machine Gun, move up!" the Team Leader shouted.
The gunmen lying on the floor scrambled to their feet and desperately climbed toward the ladder, but a thunderous shotgun blast erupted upstairs. A gunman who had been blown away toppled backward and crashed heavily onto the floor.
"Gun dogs! There are gun dogs lying in ambush upstairs!"
The moment he finished speaking, several Mechanical Dogs emerged from the huge hole in the ceiling. They raised their rear ends, and a string of grenades bounced out and fell!
Terrifying explosions erupted as the grenades bounced wildly. Blood and flesh flew everywhere in the room, and someone was blasted straight out the window. After the explosions, the Mechanical Dogs jumped down from the ceiling and spun in place, firing in all directions. Muzzle flashes tore through the thick smoke, and bullets flew everywhere!
A figure in the corner raised a gun and fired a vicious burst, knocking over the Mechanical Dog that was shooting people and scattering its parts across the floor.
"Keep moving! Faster!" the Team Leader shouted as he got to his feet.
Only a few responded. The ambush by the Mechanical Dogs had been devastating. Most of the gunmen had been killed in that single minute, leaving corpses strewn across the floor. Only four or five remained, and they struggled to their feet, panting, their movements clearly hindered by serious injuries.
The Team Leader propped up the fallen ladder and was just about to set it against the ceiling when a gunshot rang out. He fell
